The Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office encourages community involvement in law enforcement and allows approved citizens to ride as passenger observers in Sheriff’s Office vehicles for legitimate civic or educational purposes.
Eligibility to participate in a Patrol Ride-Along includes the following:
- Any citizen who is at least 18 years old
- Law enforcement officers from other jurisdictions
- Individuals who have successfully completed the screening process for the position of Deputy Sheriff with the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office
Please note that those requesting to participate in a ride-along must undergo a criminal background check and adhere to the business casual dress code.
