Project Lifesaver

"Project Lifesaver is the premier search and rescue program operated internationally by public safety agencies, and is strategically designed for “at risk” individuals who are prone to the life threatening behavior of wandering. The primary mission of Project Lifesaver is to provide timely response to save lives and reduce potential injury for adults and children with the propensity to wander due to a cognitive condition." - Project Lifesaver

The Middlesex County Sheriff's Office has partnered with Project Lifesaver International to provide a vital service for our community. This program is designed to help locate loved ones and family members who may wander due to cognitive disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, autism, and Down syndrome.

As part of this free service, the Sheriff's Office will equip clients with a watch-sized transmitter. This transmitter allows for tracking in the event that the individual wanders off. We recognize that finding lost individuals in these vulnerable populations is crucial, and we are pleased to offer this important service to the residents of Middlesex County.
