Access to Online Records
Middlesex County Circuit Court Civil and Criminal case information can be obtained from the Supreme Court Case Management System, which is used by most of the Circuit Courts in the Commonwealth.

Civil Information
Civil cases that arise from disputes between individuals, entities or groups are heard in the Circuit Court.

Concealed Handgun Permits
Concealed handgun permits are issued through the Circuit Court in the locality where the applicant resides, or if you are active duty military, the locality where the applicant is domiciled.

The circuit court has appellate jurisdiction over all appeals from general district court in criminal cases and from juvenile and domestic relations district court in matters originating from that court.

Jury Duty
Each year, the Circuit Court Judges select at least 60 persons and not more than 120 persons, who meet the qualifications set out in the Virginia Code, to serve as grand jurors.

Marriage licenses are issued by the Clerk of the Circuit Court.

Name Change
Pursuant to § 8.01-217 of the Code of Virginia, any person desiring to change his or her own name, or that of his child or ward, may apply to the circuit court of the county or city in which the person whose name is to be changed resides.

Notary Public
A notary public is a commissioned public officer who is legally authorized to administer oaths, to attest and certify the authenticity of signatures and, certain classes of documents and to take acknowledgments.

Probate
Probate is the official proving of a will, as the valid and genuine last will and testament (original, not a photocopy) of a decedent by admitting the will to record in the Circuit Court Clerk's Office where he or she resided at his or her death.

Restore Driver's License
To have your driving privileges restored, you must file in the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office a Petition for Restoration along with a copy of your current Department of Motor Vehicles record and the filing fee.
